Rena Reads: July
July was a month of gratitude and reflection, much of it inspired by the book I read, Theo of Golden by Allen Levi. This book will go down as one of my all-time favorites. It is a book you want to read slowly—to take in the stories of the characters you meet and give yourself time to think about what you learn from them. Nearly every character reveals a piece of our shared humanit y through stories of struggle, love, joy, sadness, and inspiration. Some chapters stirred up que

Rena Reads: June
Rooted Wildflower, my new business, is a collaboration of all the things I love. It’s a new and used bookstore that also carries local Michigan products, artisan goods, gourmet infused olive oils, and spices. And somehow, we have already made it to the six-week mark! If you are a parent to a child, a pet, or even a business baby of your own, you may resonate with this: time goes extremely fast, and yet somehow it also feels like they have been part of your life forever. Twenty-One Days
Last month, on May 22nd, I opened my new store in downtown Clare. Rooted Wildflower came about because I recently settled back into my hometown of Clare, Michigan. Rena Reads: April Book Recap
This month, I found myself being much more intentional about the books I’m choosing, especially the ones I’m sharing with my kids. With a Storybook Saturday reading series in the works at Rooted Wildflower (I’m so excited about this behind the scenes!), children’s books have really taken center stage for me lately.
That said, I still love a good adult read and sharing honest thoughts - like we’re just sitting down together talking books.

Rena's Reads
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas: the 5th of her Throne of Glass series. I am looking forward to continuing this series through the next three books! It is a wonderful escape to another world and reads easily. Drowning in Paper Flowers by E.L. Westbury, this was a psychological thriller, mysterious but not scary. I liked a couple of the twists and the lead character Ruby. For someone who seems like they have it all it’s a good reminder that everyone is dealing with something.
